World Club Tennis is a tennis community for tennis players of all levels. From tennis beginners to ex-professionals, all levels of play are represented. Currently (as of 9/2020) there are over 5700 players. Of these, over 300 are tennis beginners and over 200 players have a single-digit LK.

You can create a player profile on the platform for free and find tennis partners in your area. There is a player exchange (“Players” area), a notice board (“Dates” area), tennis events, individual leagues, urban tennis and much more. Everyone can play with us. Better to be nice than a professional.

Our goal is to bring nice tennis players to the tennis court together in an uncomplicated way and to get more people excited about this beautiful sport.

Our members are spread all over Germany and beyond the borders. Due to the large number of international players, there has been an English version of WCT for some time.

Why should I register for World Club Tennis?

Registration is free. You can search for other game partners for free. Here you will find plenty of opportunities to play tennis: over 11.000 tennis partners, tennis clubs, leisure league, match nights, urban tennis events, group training, etc. You will also find a lot of information about tennis courts in your area.

What play options are there for hobby players at the WCT?

As a registered World Clubber you can search for other Worldclubbers (approx. 11.000 players of all skill levels) in the “Players” or “Dates” area and arrange to meet up for tennis. You can also take part in our tennis events or compete against other players in a single league. We also offer group training in some cities. You see, there is a lot of TENNIS here.

How do I find playing partners nearby?

As a registered World Clubber, you will find about 11,000 tennis partners in all skill levels and regions in the "Players" section. Surely also in your area. You can filter the search results by skill level, city or zip code. In the "Dates" section you can find match requests or create your own entry. We will then inform all possible match partners.

Are there any female tennis players here?

Yeah sure! Approx. 30 percent of world clubbers are female. Sorry for neglecting this in our spelling. But that has to do with the fact that our texts remain legible. For the vast majority of our offers (training, league, events, etc.) we play mixed, tennis players together on the court. Both sides benefit from this :)

What is the difference between the WCT and a "normal" tennis club?

Beim World Club Tennis gibt es keinen Mitgliedsbeitrag.

Is World Club Tennis also for club players and what possibilities are there to play?

Are there also tournaments here and can you also play in the tournaments without LK?

We have leisure leagues. This is a kind of spatially and temporally flexible, decentralized tournament in which everyone in the league plays against everyone. The game partners themselves determine when and where they play and then enter the result in the league table. There are separate leagues for different levels of play. If there is no league in your area yet, you can create your own league for you and your tennis friends with just a few clicks of the mouse. You don't need an LK to play in our leisure leagues. So far, our leagues are not (yet) relevant to LK.

What play options are there at WCT for tennis beginners?

In the “Player” area you can search for other tennis beginners in your area and arrange to play tennis. In the “Dates” area you can also create an entry yourself so that the other World Clubbers know that you are looking for a playing partner. We will then inform all suitable game partners about your entry. In our leisure league you can gain your first match practice and tournament experience. You can also play at our game meetings (social tennis events). However, since there are four of us playing per court here, you should be able to play balls back and forth on half a court

How and when did World Club Tennis come about?

We (Christoph and Peter) wanted to play tennis with other nice people in an uncomplicated and flexible way without much organizational effort. In 2015 we started to network nice tennis players in Munich and bring them to the field together. We now play tennis together in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Barcelona, etc.

Where does the name World Club Tennis come from?

Initially the project was called White Club Tennis. It was a mixture of the fight club and the white sport. Incidentally, we are happy about all players, regardless of skin color, origin, shoe size or account balance and did not want or want to exclude anyone. Because the world is ticking the way it ticks and we have wanted to be open to the world from day one, we renamed ourselves World Club Tennis in 2018. If only one person associates our project with narrow-mindedness and demarcation because of the name, that's one too many.

Does World Club Tennis compete with normal tennis clubs?

No, not at all. We all have the same goal: to get people excited about this beautiful sport again. Our approach is just slightly different. Maybe we are a tennis club / tennis club 2.0. We see ourselves primarily as a (re) entry opportunity in this great sport and as a supplement to the existing tennis clubs. By the way, 30% of our teammates are in a tennis club and find cross-club playing partners in our leisure league, at tennis events, in the “Players” section or at “Dates”.

How do new players get to World Club Tennis?

The more we are, the easier it is to find a tennis partner nearby who plays similarly well. We would be happy if you publicize our passion project and tell your tennis friends about us. So please invite all the nice tennis players to the World Club Tennis.

What happens to my personal data?

Your data will not be shared with third parties. We adhere to the strict German data protection guidelines. We also endeavor to only collect data that is necessary to find a playing partner. You can see that e.g. because we only ask for your postcode and not your exact address.

Do you also work with tennis clubs or what opportunities does WCT offer tennis clubs?

We try to do that again and again and in individual cases we succeed. We do not see ourselves as competition, but as a complement or partner of the tennis clubs. Our formats (league, social tennis or players) could also be used for internal organization. In the “tennis courts” area, tennis clubs can present themselves and introduce themselves to the world clubbers. If you are interested, just contact us (info@worldclub-tennis.com). We look forward to your mail.

What kind of organization is World Club Tennis?

We started as a small leisure project for our own extended circle of friends and actually see ourselves as movement in the truest sense of the word. We are currently organized as a GbR. We are not a tennis club.

How is World Club Tennis financed?

That's a good question! So far from our pocket money. Since 2016, the league has cost entry fees. But we are always looking for sponsors and big friends. So if you know someone who thinks our project is good and has too much pocket money, let us know (info@worldclub-tennis.com).

What are the goals of World Club Tennis?

World Club Tennis would like… to bring tennis back to the people 1 match without double faults Time on the Red Square Play tennis free of charge public tennis courts in German cities In every bigger city a World Club League And and and… ..good chocolate

Is there also a mobile version of World Club Tennis for mobile phones?

Yeah sure! Simply search for World Club Tennis in the App Store or Play Store. By the way, the app is free :)

What are the tips for tennis beginners?

All beginnings are...easy! Tennis is a beautiful and complete sport. Ball feeling, eye, technique, coordination, speed, endurance, tactics, psychology, everything is involved. It takes some perseverance and patience on the court, especially in the beginning, but it's worth it. Besides, as we all know, the learning curve is steepest at the beginning. In the meantime, there are a few technical aids that make it easier for you to get started. These include, for example, pressure-reduced balls. They do not bounce as high and do not become as fast and are therefore easier to control. These "ammunition", also called methodical balls, are by no means childish. Even professionals train with them. So you don't have to be ashamed when you play with them. There are different colors depending on the pressure reduction. Also in the area of rackets has changed a lot for the beginners. The rackets have become lighter and easier to handle and the so-called racket head has become larger, which makes it easier to hit the ball. The best thing to do is to ask your trusted sports dealer for advice on which "weapon" suits you best. Let's move on to the playing field. Of course it is a sublime feeling to stand on a real tennis court. But first of all, a real tennis court is usually really expensive to rent and secondly, it is advisable for beginners not to start from the baseline, but to start in the small court or on the so-called T-line. When the two players are closer together, it becomes easier to pass the ball back and forth. Until real points are at stake at some point, the motto is: you play together, not against each other. The more often the ball goes back and forth the better. So you rent the whole court, but play only half the court at first. So if you don't really need a center court feel, a mobile one (kids/practice net) and a half-sized asphalt surface will do. The crayon provides the lines. Important: Don't forget to warm up and remember that the balls can sometimes fly and roll where they are not supposed to. So you need a little safety distance to the next Ming Vases collection! You can find a list of normal tennis courts under "Discover" in the section "Tennis facilities". Maybe there are rental courts in your area!? Sure, practice makes perfect and trying instead of studying is what most want to do once you've caught tennis fever. But a few tips/coaching lessons won't do any harm to get the "basics" and the movements taught by an experienced coach, so that you don't get a lot of half-correct things that make life difficult on the baseline later on. We recommend group training. First, it's cheaper, second, you can't remember more than 2-3 tips per session anyway, and third, you get to know potential teammates at the same time. A project that we like very much is for example: TennisPeople. There are also lots of free learning videos on the Internet! A ball wall is ideal for consolidating what you have learned and for repeating strokes. Of course, it is more fun when the playing partner is not made of concrete. It is in the nature of things that almost everyone likes to play with a better player, because then you learn more. But true to the categorical imperative, this also applies to your opposite number, of course. So it's not easy to find playing partners in the beginning, but maybe you can ask a tennis player friend to give you an hour on the court. A good server makes a big difference and prolongs rallies enormously. Under "Discover" in the "Players" section you can also find lots of other tennis beginners. So, now onto the court, ready, go! You have plenty of time. After all, we tennis players live almost 10 years longer than the average! Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
